About me

I live in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. I hope my images say something about me. As for the words, a big thank you to my good friend, Chris Dullard, for his kind observations;

 

"Dominique likes to go outside.

 

She likes to go outside to see the surface of things, and to photograph them.

 

In her work, surfaces capture the elements of the world. The elements of nature.

Air. Water. Earth. Fire.

 

Her work captures the nature of these elements in a moment in time.

Warm, Cold. Wet. Dry.

 

In earlier life, Dominique worked in health. Her work calls to mind the earliest theorems of man’s knowledge of health. The Ancient Greek conceptualisation in medicine of the Humors and their seasons: 

 

Warm & wet - (Spring); 

Warm & dry - (Summer).

Cold and dry - (Autumn); 

Cold and wet - (Winter); 

 

Dominique’s work mirrors a stillness in her as she works.
